Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable use of the DC motor in both AC and DC by interposing a rectifying diode between the base of a brush leaf spring and a terminal metal and inserting the thus interposed portion between projecting pieces provided on a retaining piece, thereby easily fixing the diode. CONSTITUTION:The rectifying diode 3 buried with a diode 4 in an insulator is inserted between the base of the brush leaf spring 1 and the terminal metal 2, and both electrodes 5a, 5b of the diode 3 are brought into pressure contact with the leaf spring 1 and the terminal metal 2. The thus inserted portion is engaged in the slit formed between the projecting pieces 8a and 8b formed on the bottom surface of a retaining plate. The pieces 8a and 8b may be interposed with another inserting pieces. In this manner the diode 3 may not be secured to the spring 1, and the assembling of the motor can be easily executed, and the motor can be used in both AC and DC.
