Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the removal of a magnetic wedge for the rotary electric machine and to improve the thermal conductivity in a semiclosed slot thereof by adhering an insulator and foamable synthetic resin to the magnetic wedge body, inserting the wedge into the slot, and then heating to foam the resin. CONSTITUTION:The insulator 6 is adhered to the magnetic wedge body 5, and the foamable synthetic resin 7 is adhered thereto. The wedge is inserted into the opening 2a of the semiclosed slot 2 to which a slot insulator 4 and a coil 3 are attached, and is heated to foam and expand the resin 7. In this manner the magnetic wedge body 5 can be secured to predetermined position, iron loss can be reduced, and removal of the wedge can be prevented owing to vibration. Since the coil 3 is urged further onto the bottom of the slot, the thermal conductivity in the slot can be improved.
