Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a strongly adhered uniform coating by a method wherein an anionic water soluble high molecular electrolyte solution is coated on a metal surface and the enamel powder is painted electrostatically thereon in an undried condition.
CONSTITUTION: If the anionic water soluble high molecular electrolyte solution is coated on the metal surface to be painted and frits are electrostatically painted thereon in an undried condition, said frits are adhered uniformly and strongly because said coating has electrolyte effect. The anionic high molecular electrolyte solution is one obtained by adding and mixing an amino plast resin as a crosslinking agent according to necessity to a solution prepared by partially or sufficiently neutralizing a copolymer comprising an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, e.g., acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and an acrylic monomer, e.g., methyl acrylate or ethyl methacrylate or/and other copolymerizable monomer, e.g., vinyl acetate by using ammonia, for example, to impart water solubility to said copolymer. This solution is coated in an amount of about 20W40g/m2.
