Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an acrylic sol which can be crosslinked to a gel having remarkably improved heat resistance, solvent resistance, hardness, etc. without loweing the storage stability of the sol, by using a resin having functional groups and a plasticizer mixed with a crosslinking agent.
CONSTITUTION: An acrylic paste resin containing a polymethyl methacrylate copolymerized with a monomer having a functional group or its copolymer, is mixed with a crosslinking agent selected according to the kind of the functional group, and the mixture is dispersed in a plasticizer. Althrough the functional groups of the resin are included in the resin particles and kept nonreactive, the storage stability of the sol can be surther improved by coating the surface of the particle with a polymerizable carboxylic acid metal salt. The monomer having a functional group is, e.g. (meth) acrylic acid, glycidyl (meth) acrylate, etc., and its content in the resin is ≤20wt% to achieve the purpose.
