Abstract
PURPOSE: To construct a deep penetrating steel-pipe pile and an underground wall and the like with high accuracy by a method wherein an expanding and contracting device which expand and contract in the horizontal direction to adjust the distance between piles forcibly is provided between new and existing piles when the new pile is built in adjacently to the existing pile.
CONSTITUTION: When a new pile 3 is built in along an existing pile 2 by being adjusted for its position and posture, a connection tool 12 fitted to an elastic device 5 is fixed to a bracket 10 fitted to the required position of the new pile 3 by operating a hydraulic jack 19. And, the concave groove of a slidable metal fitting 16 fitted to the elastic device 5 on the side of the existing pile 2 is put fittingly in the T- shaped guide 14 of the existing pile 2, and the new pile 3 is built in, being guided by the existing pile 2. In the course of building, tilt and others are checked up by a tilt-measuring device not shown in the figure. According to this, another hydraulic jack 7 is operated to expand and contract the elastic device 5, thus the position and posture of the new pile 3 being adjusted on the existing pile 2 as a support point.
