Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a better performance and highly durable semipermeable membrane of poly acrylonitrile copolymer, having a liquid imperviousness or perviousness higher than a definite value, from an acrylonitrile copolymer having specific reduction viscosity and specific strong acid groups.
CONSTITUTION: The polyacrylonitrile copolymer semipermeable membrane, having an asymmetric structure with a dense layer on its surface, a liquid imperviousness of 50% or more (measured by a 0.003wt% sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate aqueous solution) and a liquid perviousness of 1.5l/m2.hr.atm or more, is manufactured from a copolymer containing 60mol% or more acrylonitrile as the main component, and 20W0mol% an unsaturated compound polymerizable with acrylonitrile as the subcomponent, with sulfonic acid groups, having a reduction viscosity of 1.2W3.4 and a strong acid group of 8×10-5 equivalents/g or more. The membrane thus obtained has better performance and high durability.
