Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a negative image having high sensitivity, contrast and density on a silver saved photosensitive material by an intensifying method by using photosensitive silver halide, metal salt and physically developing nuclei.
CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive material contg. (1) photosensitive silver halide, (2) difficultly surface-solubilized particles of metal salt having solubility higher than that of photosensitive silver halide and preactically showing no photosensitivity and (3) physically developing nuclei on a support is processed with a processing soln. contg. a reducing agent, a substance dissolving the particles (2) and a compound represented by the general formula [where each of X, Y and Z is N or a CR group (R is H, lower alkyl or aryl) and each of R1 and R2 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, aryloxy, NO, NO2, CN, halogen, COR, aryl or the like]. The compound controls fogging.
