Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a window glass lifter for an automobile which lifter can form an opening for ventilation between a front edge of a window glass and a door sash by providing the window glass lifter with a guide rail for guiding a floating arm having an end pivotally supported on the window glass and with another guide rail for guiding an axle for rotation of the floating arm in a horizontal direction.
CONSTITUTION: Upon rotation of a driving ponion 11 of a window glass lifter 10, a floating arm 13 having a noncircular gear 12 which is meshed with the driving pinion 11 is moved in the direction of an arrow A along a first guide rail 16. A window glass 9 is thereby moved in the same direction along horizontal portions of second guide rails 20, 20a and is partly received in a cover section 6. As a result, an opening similar to a conventional triangular window is formed between a front edge of the window glass 9 and a door sash 7 so that ventilation can be accomplished efficiently. Upon further rotation of the driving pinion 11, an axle 14 is abutted against an end of the guide rail 16 whereafter the floating arm 13 is pivoted about the axle 14 so that the window glass 9 is lowered.
