Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease the noise and to make constant the reproduced output even with different running direction, by plurally forming the ground layer of nonmagnetic substance of high melting point on the substrate and forming the direction of injection of vapor deposition of magnetic substance layer corresponding to it alternately.
CONSTITUTION: On the magnetic recording substrate 1 such as synthetic resin-made tape, the ground layer 2 is formed by evaporating the nonmagnetic substance of higher melting point than the magnetic metal or alloy, and the magnetic substance metal layer 3 is formed on it by evaporating the specified magnetic substance metal or alloy with tilt injection. A plurality of the ground layer 2 and the magnetic substance layer 3 are sequentially formed and constitution is made that the direction of tilt vapor-deposited layer of the magnetic substance layer 3 can be made different every layer alternately. Thus, at reproduction, the output difference is almost absent depending on either running direction, the noise is reduced and excellent effect can be obtained at the reciprocating running of tape.
