Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the controllability of the pattern input device with a simple structure, by securing a conduction between the lead wire and the resistor layer at the writing point and then detecting the position of writing from the resistance division value of the resistor layer and through the time-series driving.
CONSTITUTION: The output of the counter 30 turns on the change-over switches S1WSn successively via the decoder 31. And the voltage V1 and V2 produced from the belt-type electrodes Y1 and Y2 of the flat-plate resistor 13 and via the load resistance RL1 and RL2 are applied to the analog adder 32 and divider 33 each. And the voltage V1/(V1+V2) is applied to the differential amplifier 34, and this output is applied to the A/D converter 35. Now if the lead wire Xi is driven by the change-over switch Si, a conduction is secured between the resistor 13 and wire Xi at the points O' and Q corresponding to the writing point each.
