Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure the number of revolution at high accuracy and easily by a method wherein detecting coils sensing the lines of magnetic force generated from ignition coils are attached outside an automobile, and the output signals are inputted to a correlative revolution-indicator through low-pass filters.
CONSTITUTION: Ignition coils for an engine and detecting coils 3, 4 sensing the lines of magnetic force generated from wiring at the primary side are installed parting from the fenders 2 of an automobile 1 by about 20cm at left and right locations on an inspection line. The signals are inputted to low-pass filters 8, 9 thrugh low noise amplifiers 6, 7, and these output is added by an analog adder 10, and inputted to a correlative revolution-indicator 12 computing the number of revolution from autocorrelation. Thus, high-frequency components in detecting signals are removed, only signals corresponding to the number of revolution are obtained while the difference of the detecting value of left and right coils due to the deviation of the car is eliminated, and the number of revolution can be measured accurately and easily.
