Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the temperature dependency of the characteristic and to simplify the construction of the gas detector by holding a gas sensitive part and a compensation part on the same base plate and heating these parts by a heat generating member.
CONSTITUTION: A recession 2 is provided at one main surface side of a ceramic base plate 1, and electrodes 3 and 4 forming a pair are arranged on the surface of a part other than the recession 2, and electrodes 5 and 6 forming another pair are arranged on the inner surface of the recession 2. Gas sensitive films 7 and 8 are respectively formed on the electrodes 3 and 4 and electrodes 5 and 6. A gas detecting part 9 is formed by the sensitive film 7 and the electrodes 3 and 4, and the temperature compensating part 10 is formed by the sensitive film 8 and the electrodes 5 and 6. A shielding plate 11 hermetically closes the temperature compensating part 10 within the recession 2 to prevent the external atmosphere from contacting the sensitive film 8. Furthermore, heat generating members 16 and 17 are embedded within the base plate 1 so that they are positioned right below the detecting part 9 and the compensating part 10, respectively. As a result, the temperature dependency of the characteristic can be extremely reduced.
