Abstract
PURPOSE: To give a prescribed tesnion to a serrated belt, by fastening to a certain degree an adjuster belt attached to a member engaged with a rear wheel shaft.
CONSTITUTION: After a fastening nut 16 for a rear wheel shaft 3 has been loosened, the graduation of a washer 15 is calibrated to the graduation on a swing arm 2 using an adjustable bolt 9, and at the same time, the graduation of a washer 15 provided on the other end of the rear wheel shaft 3 is positioned to the approximately same point so that the rear wheel shaft 3 is aligned. Then an adjuster body 14 is pulled to the rearward of the wheel to cause the washer 15 to push rearward the rear wheel shaft 3. When a mark on the tip of a guide 20 projecting from the center of a front surface of a receive plate 19 extending lateraly from the washer 15 protrudes out of a through hole 18 in a receive plate 17 of the adjuster body 14, the fastening of the adjuster bolt 9 is stopped, and a lock nut 8 is fastened to secure the adjuster bolt 9.
