Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the high-speed reading of large-size materials by providing a rotary reflecting mirror which performs X-direction scanning by curvedly advancing lighting and reading light and a device of performing scanning in the Y- direction by forming a read head consisting of a light source and a photosensor and a material fixing head of a segmental cylindrical shape centering at the turning axis of the reflecting mirror into one piece.
CONSTITUTION: Light from a light source 9 passes through an optical system 10, is curved by a reflecting mirror 5 for lighting and lights the read area of the material 6 fixed to a material fixing head 7. The light reflected by the read area is reflected and curved by a reflecting mirror 4 for reading, passes through an optical system 2 and is photoelectrically converted by a photosensor 1.
