Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the magnetic recording substance excellent in the stability of output level and high in the reliability, consisting of magnetic layer by using aqueous magnetic paint including ferromagnetic powder via the intermediate layer including thermosetting resin on the paper support.
CONSTITUTION: On the paper support, the intermediate layer is formed by coating the intermediate layer liquid obtained by uniformly scattering particles, preferably 3W5μ or under, of thermosetting resin such as phenol resin and melamine resin into aqueous binder liquid, by about 50W90pts.wt. As the binder liquid, the liquid which is dissolved or dispersed such as starch, polyvinylalchohol in water is preferred and the amount of binder is about 40W10pts.wt. Further, the magnetic layer is formed by coating the aqueous paint containing the ferromagnetic powder such as γ-iron oxide power on the intermediate layer to obtain the objective magnetic recording substance. Thus, since no invasion of magnetic paint to the paper support is caused, the output level can be made stable and the object can be achieved by thinly coating the magnetic substance paint with economy.
