Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide title ink which can be preserved over a long period of time, has a low viscosity and can difficultly be evaporated, consisting of a water-soluble dye having a specified liquid property and an aliph. polyhydric alcohol or an alkyl ether derivative thereof or an alkyl ether acetate devivative thereof.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided an ink consisting of (A) a water-soluble dye having a liquid property in which the dye is dissolved in water to give a pH of not lower than 6 at 20°C, and (B) at least one wetting agent selected from aliph. polyhydric alcohols, the alkyl ether derivatives of the aliph. polyhydric alcohols and the alkyl ether acetate derivatives of the aliph. polyhydric alcohols. By rising the pH to not lower than 6, the corrosion of stainless wire due to the ink does not occur. When the amount of the wetting agent in the ink compsn. is increased, the vapor pressure of the ink is reduced so that the ink can difficultly be evaporated, the amount of the dye can be increased and printing density is improved. But, as the viscosity is increased, the increase in the amount of the wetting agent is not preferred. Pref. the amount of the wetting agent in the ink compsn. is 10W50pts.wt.
