PURPOSE:To improve reliability by eliminating the breakdown of a data transmission system, by backing up the data transmission system by another transmission system when the transmission system gets out of order. CONSTITUTION:Once remote station 2 or terminal transmitter 6 of the 1st system runs into trouble, change-over unit 9 is changed over by a fault signal to connect digital controller 12 of the 1st system from terminal transmitter 6 of the 1st system to terminal transmitter 7 of the 2nd system and consequently the change-over end signal of change-over unit 9 of the 1st system is transmitted to remote station 2 and terminal transmitter 6 of the 1st system and remote station 3 and terminal transmitter 7 of the 2nd system, changing the software of each unit over. Thus, a transmission system having run into trouble can be changed-over to another backup transmission system without entailing the breakdown of the system.
