Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure precisely the insulating property of the main insulating layer alone of the stator core of an electric rotary machine by a method wherein a semiconducting layer is provided between the main insulating layer and a low resistance corona shielding layer, and the nondestructive insulation test is performed by applying a voltage between the semiconducting layer and a strand conductor. CONSTITUTION:A strand insulating material 3, an under solidifying layer 5, a main insulating layer 6 and a protective layer 7 are provided in order on the outside of a strand conductor 2 to form an insulating layer 4. A low resistance corona shielding layer 8 is provided on the outer circumference of the insulating layer 4 and a semiconducting layer 9 is provided at the inside of the protective layer 7, and at ordinary times the semiconducting layer 9, the low resistance corona shielding layer 8 and a protecting electrode 13 of a field mitigating layer 12 are earthed with a short-circuiting earth piece 11. When the nondestructive insulation test is to be performed on a stator coil 10, the short-circuiting earth piece 11 is removed and a test voltage is applied between the semiconducting layer 9 and the strand conductor 2. By this way, the insulating character of the main insulating layer 6 alone can be measured precisely.
