Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce probability of simultaneous fault occurrence on current and auxiliary lines to enhance reliability, by selecting and connecting the auxiliary line from the route different from the route of the current line. CONSTITUTION:Normally, terminal 1 is connected to line 3 through switch 2, and terminal 5 is connected to line 7 through switch 6, and they transmit and receive signals respectively. When a fault occurs on line 3, which 2 operates to connect terminal 1 to line 9, and transmission and receiving are performed through line 8 which is provided in the route other than that of line 3, so that terminal 1, at least, can hold transmission and receiving functions even for simultaneous fault occurrence on lines 3 and 4. The operation of terminal 5 is similar to that of terminal 1; and when a fault occurs on line 7, switch 6 operates to connect terminal 5 to line 10, and transmission and receiving are performed through line 4 which is provided in the route other than that of line 7.
