Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the seizure of the main bearing of an enclosed-type electric compressor by making oil grooves in the inner surfaces of the upper and lower metals of the main bearing, the oil grooves extending to both ends of the metals, in order to make the lubricating oil quantity for both metals equal to each other for a smooth lubrication; and reliably removing gas from refrigerant.
CONSTITUTION: An oil 29 sucked in a centrifugal lubrication means 26 by the rotation of a crank shaft 11 passes through an axial oil hole 27, flows through a radial oil hole 36 into an annular groove 35 in the intermediate portion between the upper and lower metals 37 and 38 of a main bearing 5, and lubricates the metals by flowing through oil grooves 39. The oil having lubricated the upper metal 37 is exhausted from the upper part of the metal into a motor lower chamber 30, and the oil having lubricated the lower metal 38 is exhausted from the lower part of the metal into a crank chamber 8, and both are intoduced to the bottom of a closed chamber 1. Since the radial oil hole 36 of the crank shaft 11 is located between the metals, the lubrications are performed equally. Moreover, the oil grooves 39 made in the metals permit the gas in the refrigerant to be reliably removed.
