Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a flow cell which can detect the specified material in a high accuracy, by providing a chemical sensor part which senses the specified material at part of the flow path of the material to be tested and then connecting the sensor part to the insulated gate part of the pH sensor of the insulated gate type transistor structure which is sensitive to the hydrogen ion. CONSTITUTION:For flow cell 1, the liquid to be tested is flowed into glass tube 2 and then made to touch ion-sensitive film 6. Thus the potential is produced on the interface of film 6 as well as to the test liquid in accordance with the ion concentration or activity in the test liquid. This potential is trnasmitted to insulated gate part 10 of pH sensor via conductive component 8. Accordingly, reference electrode 13 is provided to tube 2, and then the proper bias voltage is applied to electrode 13 to measure the source-drain current of sensor 9. Based on this current value, the desired ion concentration or activity in the test liquid can be obtained. This is suited to the analysis of the blood serum or the like.
