Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase ink jet efficiency and to faciltiate filling of ink, by arranging the second electrostrictive vibrator in the form of a plate between an electrostrictive vibrator and an ink liquid chamber to act as a hinged type valve to open or close an ink channel therebetween. CONSTITUTION:In the case of transfer printing, opening and closing of a bimorph electrostrictive vibrator 5 is controlled to synchronize with driving of an electrostrictive vibrator 3 such that when the electrostrictive vibration 3 is constricted (ink is ejected), the bimorph electrostrictive vibrator 5 is opened and when the electrostrictive vibrator 3 is expanded (ink is sucked), the bimorph electrostrive vibrator 5 is opened as shown in phantom line. This is done such that the voltage phase applied to the bimorph electrostrictive vibrator 5 is delayed with respect to the voltage phase applied to the electrostrictive vibrator 3 so that immediately before the constriction of the electrostrictive vibrator 3 the bimorph electrostrictive vibrator 5 may be closed and immediately before the expansion of the electrostrictive vibrator 3 the bimorph electrostrictive vibrator 5 may be opened. The phase shift amount is determined based on a pressure transmis sion speed between the vibrators 5 and 3.
