Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the continuous production of products which are likely to cause misrun defects, stably without any defect by making molds and the suction box communicated with an evacuating device contactable and detachable with and from the top and under of suction holes, in the predetermined stop positions of a rotary table with plural suction holes.
CONSTITUTION: To cast products, such as those having exceedingly thin and sharp edges, which are likely to cause misrun defects, a plurality of molds conforming to product shapes are prepared. The preheated first mold 14 is placed on a suction hole 6a and a rotary table 1 is rotated 60° to move the first mold 14 to the position B. Thereupon, a suction box 18 is moved upward until it closely contacts the bottom surface of the table 1, after which molten metal is poured into the mold. At the same time, suction casting is performed by a suction device 27. After the predetermined time, atmospheric pressure is restored in the box 18 to detach the box from the bottom surface. During this time, the next mold is placed on the suction hole 6f in a similar manner and the table 1 is rotated 60° intermittently to move the first mold to the position C of the cooling zone and the next mold to the position B. Thereafter, the casting is continuously repeated in the same manner.
