Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain repid responsiveness and improve responding speed in case of accidents while promoting the precision of the protection of a device by a system wherein the next point of ignition time is successively instructed from a present commutating condition of a cycloconverter. CONSTITUTION:A control signal generator 9 produces control signals for a lead angle of control by means of pulse counters from each of output signal from a voltage zero point detector 6, a commutation end point detector 7 and a frequency pulse generator being proportional to the speed of revolution. The generator 9 has the first and second pulse counters, inputs ignition timing signals at the power source side of a cycloconverter 2, selectively puts out either output signals of the first and second pulse counters according to whether or not the ignition timing signals at the power source side enter during a commutating period at the motor side, and forms ignition signals at the motor side of the cycloconverter 2 based on the signals.
