Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the recording density of magnetic disc, by utilizing optical method through the use of a disc of magnetic coating on the concentrical circle printed according to the recording track. CONSTITUTION:The light from LED9 irradiates on the flexible disc 1 with the spot around 0.2mm. in diameter through the glass fiber 8, and after print, it passes through the cocentric circle 5 coated with the magnetic substance layer 6 by the reflection on transmission via the fiber 8 and detected at the detectors A and B. The detection signal drives and controls the pulse motor to align the head. In this case, two pulses are detected with the detectors A and B through the movement of the head, and the head is aligned by switching the detectors A and B through the odd and even number of tracks of the disc 1. Thus, the track pitch of flexible disc is made fine to increase the recording density.
