Abstract

PURPOSE:To lessen current necessary to drive numerous heat generating elements simultaneously through switch-operated serial connection to power source of more than one out of heat generating elements. CONSTITUTION:Gate turn off thyristor 10 for power switch on and off is put into 'ON' condition. Gate signal is given to the thyristor 5 for picture signal input distributed in parallel to heat generating element 1 to generate heat so that only selected thyristor 5 is not kept in conduction. Then, thyristor 6 for record timing adjustment is kept in conduction to heat generating element 1 in parallel with selected thyristor 5. Thyristor 10 is kept out of conduction to stop heat generation of heat generating element and keep all the thyristors 5 out of conduction. It is possible to heat all the necessary heat generating elements simultaneously. Even in the case of increased heat generating elements, current to be supplied by power source 8 can be saved to the level required by about 2 heat generating elements.
