Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a position of a moving object to be detected by detecting coincidence of set pulse number corresponding to a predetermined position with count number of pulse signal in which a reference position of the moving object engaging a stopper in a specified position is counted as a reference number.
CONSTITUTION: Rotational amount of a feed shaft 22 corresponding to shift amount of a slide table 18, i.e. moving object is detected from a gear coupling 49 by a rotary encoder 50. The feed position of the slide table 18 is detected in responce to the output of the rotary encoder 50 by a limit detecting circuit 52 sending output to a machine sequence circuit 30. Said rotary encoder 50 consists of a pair of photoelectric elements arranged at intervals of 90° phase difference around gear of a gear coupling 49 of a DC motor 24 for example to supply output of two pulse signals differing in the phase difference according to the direction of rotating the feed shaft 22, i.e. feeding the slide table 18.
