Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize the geothermal hot water efficiently by a method wherein Ca(OH)2 or CaO is added to the geothermal hot water to adjust the pH thereof to a predetermined range and heat exchange is carried out, thereafter Ca2+ type compound is moreover added to separate and remove silica component and, thereby scale generation is prevented.
CONSTITUTION: After Ca(OH)2 or CaO is added to geothermal hot water to adjust the pH thereof to a range of 9W11, heat exchange is carried out. Subsequently, the Ca2+ type compound is moreover added to the heat exchanged geothermal hot water to separate and remove the silica component contained in the hot water as a calcium salt. If necessary, prior to the aforementioned method, the geothermal hot water is stayed in a pH range of 5W9 for 0.5W3hr and, thereafter, by adding Ca(OH)2 or the like, an adding amount thereof is reduced and economization can be enhanced.
