Abstract

PURPOSE: To greatly lighten the strain of cathode, by specifying the concentration of nickel and chlorine ion, pH and temperature at the nickel electrolytic extracting method.
CONSTITUTION: Aqueous solution of nickel chloride is maintained at ≥40g/l, preferably 40W50%, nickel ion concentration, 80W100g/l chlor ion concentration, 0.5W1.5pH, ≥50°C temperature and electrolysis is performed at preferably ≤3A/ dm2 cathode current density at the method using insoluble electrode as anode, pure nickel thin plate as cathode and aqueous solution of nickel chloride as electrolyte. For example, titanium plate is used as anode and 38 sheets of 800×1,000×1mm pure nickel starting sheet are used as cathode. The anode and cathode are alternately arranged in electrolytic bath and electrolysis is performed at 25l/min electrolyte supplt amount, 2.35A/dm2 cathode current density, 60°C temperature and a fixed pH and then, controlling each concentration of nickel and chlor ion for 9 days. Hereby, cathode strain is greatly repressed.
