Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the exciting circuit, primary coil, etc., of a magnetic sensor from burning by exciting the primary side of the magnetic sensor by an AC electric power source and then by controlling primary-side exciting current so that a secondary output will be equal to a setter set voltage.
CONSTITUTION: A set voltage is set to secondary-output-voltage setter 9, and maximum electric current which is allowable for the exciting circuit of magnetic sensor 2 is also set to limit-current setter 21; and magnetic sensor 2 is arranged on the surface of a magnetic material and primary coil 3 of sensor 2 is excited by AC electric power source 6. Then, exciting electric current is led to operational amplifier 20 of exciting-current limiter 23 and compared to and subtracted from the set current of limit-current setter 21 and the result is fed back to AC electric power source 6, exercising control over the exciting current of primary coil 3 of sensor 2 so that it will never exceed the set current of limit current setter 21. Consequently, the exciting circuit, primary coil, etc., of the magnetic sensor can be prevented from burning.
