Abstract

PURPOSE:To make fixing of lenses easy and make spectacles light by fixing the spectacle lenses provided with grooves on the outside circumference to a frame by utilizing elastic force by means of elastic rings fitting in said grooves. CONSTITUTION:A spectacle lens 3 is provided with a groove 4, and a rim frame 1 and a crossover frame 2 are brazed at suitable places. The projection 5 on the inside surface of the rim frame 1 fits into the groove 4 of the lens 3. A groove 6 is provided on the outer side of the rim frame 1. An elastic ring 7 fixes the lens by inserting the ring 7 in the groove 6 of the frame 1 and the groove 4 of the spectacle lens 3. An elastic ring 7 is made of an elastic material comprising essentialy nylon resin or other high polymer elastic material or an alloy such as Ni-Ti or Au-Cu. The elastic ring 7 is made slightly shorter than the necessary peripheral length and fixes the lens 3 by making use of elasticity. Hence, the fixing of the lenses is easy and the spectacles are light in weight.
