Abstract
PURPOSE: Titled composition, giving a coat with excellent quick-drying property, luster, adhesion and weathering resistance, which is prepared by the addition of a specified plasticizer to a thermoplastic acrylic resin paint.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100pts.wt. (as solid) of a thermoplastic acrylic resin paint, obtained by dissolving a thermoplastic acrylic resin of peak MW, by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), of 10,000W50,000, and of glass transition temperature 50W 90°C, and, if necessary, a cellulose derivative such as nitrocellulose, in a solvent, are compounded with, as a plasticizer, (B) 5W50pts.wt. of an acrylic copolymer of glass transition temperature -5W-60°C and of peak MW, by GPC, of 10,000W 100,000, obtained by the copolymerization of a monomer mixture, composed of (meth)acrylic acid and a (meth)acrylate having a 1W12C alkyl group, and, if necessary, of not more than 50wt% of other substituting monomers.
USE: A paint for the inside and outside of vehicles, apparatus, etc.
