CONSTITUTION: The residual liquid or waste liquid of the amino acid recovery step of the amino acid preparation process by mineral acid hydrolysis, is adjusted to pH 4W8, and subjected to electrodialysis in a dialyzer furnished with an anion exchange membrane at the anode side and a cation exchange membrane at the cathode side, to obtain the objective feed for cattle and poultry. The acid hydrolysis is carried out, e.g. by reacting 100pts.wt. of L-glutamic acid with 350pts.wt. of concentrated hydrocholoric acid at 110°C for 3W6hr. A conventional electrodialyzer having ion exchange membranes can be used as the dialyzer. The remaining liquid of the electrodialysis contains 6W10% of effective nitrogen compounds, and can be used as it is or after concentration or drying, to the feed for cattle, etc.
