Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a novel substance NiFe2S4 in a high yield by simultaneously applying a specified temp. or above and a specified pressure or above to a mixture consisting of nickel, iron and sulfur in a specified molar ratio.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture consisting of nickel, iron and sulfur in the 1:2:4 molar ratio is premolded, put in a hard lead pipe, and charged into pyrophyllite as a pressure medium. ≥6.5GPa pressure and ≥700°C temp. are simultaneously applied with a press for generating super high pressure and high temp. The treatment time is 10W60min. The crystal structure undergoes a change, and by rapidly cooling the pipe to ordinary temp. and reducing the pressure to ordinary pressure, a novel substance thionickel ferrite (NiFe2S4) is obtd. in a high yield.
