Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently deodorize the titled waste liquor contg. at least one kind of S compound such as Na2S or NaSH and discharged by washing petroleum hydrocarbon by adding a specified amount of H2O2 as an aqueous soln. of a predetermined concn. to the waste liquor.
CONSTITUTION: Malodorous alakline waste liquor contg. at least one kind of S compound selected from Na2S, NaSH, NaSR and RSH is discharged when petroleum hydrocarbon is washed with an aqueous soln. of caustic soda. To the waste liquor is added 0.5W20mol hydrogen peroxide per mol of the S compound as a 0.5W10wt% aqueous soln. By this method the waste liquor can be deodorized effectively without leaving a chlorine odor unlkie a conventional method.
