Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure a smooth operation without stopping the secondary scanning, by setting previously N units of secondary scanning velocities corresponding to the transmission time required for one line and then detecting the coding bit number generated with every line to select the velocity. CONSTITUTION:The coding signals sent from coding circuit 6 which gives coding to the picture signals are transmitted to buffer memory 7 as well as to coding bit number detecting circuit 9. Circuit 9 detects the coding bit number generated with every line, and coding bit number detecting signal 10 showing the detected coding bit number is sent to secondary scanning control circuit 11. Circuit 11 decreaces the secondary scanning velocity when the coding bit number is large and in order to secure a large arriving time at the line to be scanned next. On the other hand, the secondary scanning velocity is increased when the coding bit number is small, and secondary scanning velocity control signal 12 is set previously and in correspondence to the coding bit number so that both the underflow and overflow may be prevented for memory 7. This signal 12 is then transmitted to secondary secanning drive circuit 13.
