Abstract

PURPOSE: To attain the constitution that provides detection even with the same photodetector with regard to a distance-measuring instrument for the automatic focusing adjustment of a camera, by arranging a mark and the detection region of a mark image so that the both will be conjugate to an object at the same time, and then by vibrating the mark or detection region in a base-line direction.
CONSTITUTION: Through focusing lens 3 of a photographing unit, mark 31a is projected on a distance-measured object and a mark image reflected by the object is photodetected through focusing lens 3. Mark 31a and the detection region of the mark image are arranged being conjugate to the object at the same time and mark 31a or detection region 36a is vibrated in the base-line direction. There is no need to vibrate a scanning mirror and the same photodetector detects light, so that evading deterioration in performance due to a difference in characteristics between elements as a result of photodetectors used will be effective.
