Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent formation of die slugs and to obtain title molded product excellent in appearance, etc., by dry-blending a concentrate prepared by fixing a silanol condensation catalyst on a polyolefin with a silyl-modified polyolefin and feeding the blend into an extruder.
CONSTITUTION: A polyolefin is reacted with an organosilane, e.g., vinyltrimethoxysilane, and a radical-generating compound, e.g., dicumyl peroxide, benzoyl peroxide, to yield a silane-grafted polyolefin. Separately, a silanol condensation catalyst such as dibutyltin laurate or cobalt naphthenate, together with silica is added to a polyolefin to yield a polyolefin concentrate containing the silanol condensation catalyst fixed on the polyolefin. Next, the crosslinked product of the purpose is prepared by blending this concentrate with a silane-grafted polyolefin and feeding the blend into an extruder.
