Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily obtain good-quality silane-bridged polyolefin resin moulds by contacting with water the laminated mould obtained by alternately extruding silane- grafted polyolefin and a catalyst master batch containing silanol-condensing catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: Silane-grafted polyolefin is obtained through silane-grafting reaction between a polyolefin resin (e.g. PE) and a silane compound represented by formula (e.g. vinyl trimethoxysilane) and a compound generating a free radical portion to the polyolefin at higher temperatures than 150°C (e.g. dicumyl peroxide). In the meanwhile, a catalyst master batch is produced by adding silanol-condensing catalyst (e.g. dibutyl-tin-dilaurylate) to a polyolefin resin (e.g. PE). Next, silane-grafted polyolefin and the catalyst master batch are extruded for making a mould in which the both materials are laminated alternately. The mould is exposed to an atmosphere where water is present, for silane bridging, so that the object mould is obtained.
