Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the light resistance of an org. basic substance without deteriorating the hue and purity by adding a specified complex to the substance. CONSTITUTION:To an org. basic substance such as (poly)methine dye or indophenol dye having the absorption maximum in the 300-800nm wavelength region and used as an image forming dye in the photographic field is added a complex represented by the formula (where M is Cu, Co, Ni, Pd or Pt, at least one of R<1> and R<2> is H, and the other is alkyl, aryl, acyl, N-alkylcarbamoyl, N-arylcarbamoyl, N-alkylsulfamoyl, N-arylsulfamoyl, alkoxycarbonyl or aryloxycarbonyl). The complex- added substance is dissolved in a low b.p. org. solvent exerting no unfavorable influence on the photographic characteristics, and the soln. is added to hydrophilic colloid. This colloid is applied to a support so that said complex exists by 10-1X10<4> micromole.
