Abstract

PURPOSE:To scan an optical system at a constant speed and to return it at a high speed, by driving the optical system in one direction through a cam device and by returning the optical system by the righting moment of a spring in an independently provided spring expanding device. CONSTITUTION:When an optical system unit 1 at a scan starting position, electric motors 10 and 25 are driven under a command. When a plate cam 7 is rotated clockwise (as shown by an arrow) by the electric motor 10, the optical system unit 1 moves and scans to right through a lever 13. Since a spring 16 is weakened at this time, its scanning speed is constant. On the other hand, as the electric motor 25 drives the driven pulley of a clutch device 20 counterclockwise, a hook member 18 moves to right against the strength of a spring 17. At a scan ending point, the electric motors 10 and 25 stop and the clutch device 20 is turned off, thereby returning the optical unit 1 engaged with the hook member 18 at a high speed by the strong retaining strength of the tension spring 17.
