Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent matching state over a wide frequency range, by loading a dielectric plate, tapered at both axial end parts, along one E surface including a connection part between the 1st and 2nd rectangular waveguides. CONSTITUTION:The 1st rectangular waveguide 1 permitting an electromagnetic wave to propagate in TE mode and the 2nd rectangular wave-guide 6 which is nearly as thick as the waveguide 1 and provided with a leakage opening in the E surface in the axial direction of the waveguide are connected together. A dielectric plate 7 tapered at both axial end parts is loaded along at least one E surface including the connection part between weaveguides 1 and 6. An electromagnetic wave hav ing propagated in TE mode through the waveguide 6 whose H surface is reduced in width more than that of the waveguide 1 is radiated from the leakage opening.
