Abstract

PURPOSE: A high-crystallinity hydrocarbon polymer swollen with an organic solvent is vigorously stirred together with a surfactant aqueous solution, then the organic solvent is gradually removed to produce a fine powder suitably used to reinforce rubber effectively.
CONSTITUTION: For example, 1,3-butadiene is polymerized in toluene to produce swollen 1,2-syndiotactic-polybutadiene. Then, the swollen product is vigorously stirred together with a surfactant aqueous solution containing regin acid, e.g., with a high speed mixer. Subsequently, the solvent is removed by flowing steam to give the objective fine powder. The organic solvent for swelling the polymer is preferably a 5W8C hydrocarbon.
EFFECT: A fine powder of less than 200μ particle sizes is obtained.
