Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture compound particles consisting of different layers, by forming fine particles from molten material, then by allowing the fine particles to contact with coating material having melting temp. lower than that of the fine particles.
CONSTITUTION: Compound particle consisting of a surface layer and an inner layer which are different in kind from each other are manufactured. Molten metal 8 contained in a tundish 7 is flowed down through a fine hole 9 and a flow-down nozzle 10 in a rotary drum 13 which is arranged under the nozzle 10 and is heated by the flame 12 of a burner 11. The metal flowed down from the nozzle 10 is formed into fine particles by the rotating force of the rotary drum 13 which rotates in the direction of A, and the particles are scattered so as to collide against metallic foil 14 for coating the particles. As a result, the metallic foil 14 at the parts with which the fine particles collided melt by the heat of the fine particles thereby coating the surface of the fine particles to form compound particles. The compound particles 18 are collected by a collecting tray 17. The metallic foil 14 is delivered from an upper winding roll 15 in the direction of B to a lower winding roll 16.
