Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the action of surging in a region of low flow rate with the method at a low cost, by arranging annular surge suppressing members with an impeller shaft as their center on an inner circumferential wall in the vicinity of an impeller.
CONSTITUTION: If a control signal is fed to an oil hydraulic actuator 25 from a control circuit and rods 24 are moved rightward, surge suppressing members 21 are protruded to a gas inlet passage 23 for an impeller 1. Of the streams flowing toward the impeller 1 through the inlet passage 23 from a suction port, a stream passing in the vicinity of an inner circumferential wall 14 is prevented by the surge suppressing members 21 and then hesitates, thus the stream in the vicinity of the inner circumferential wall 14 is caused almost not to flow in the vicinity of a root of the impeller 1. On the other hand, in the vicinity of a peripheral wall 13 a high speed stream flows into an area in the vicinity of the point end part in the impeller 1. Accordingly, a stall is never caused to a region of smaller flow rate than in the past.
