Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect humidity and gas with one detecting element and a device by attaching a heating element to a metallic oxide P type semiconductor which is sensitive to humidity and gas, further connecting a reference detector in series thereto and providing a power source for heating. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2, 3 are formed on the surface of a metallic oxide P type semiconductor (MgCr2O4 ceramic conductor or the like) 1 by printing or the like of paste of RuO2 type. An electrode 4 for heating element is then baked on the electrode 3 by using Ag type paste. Lead wires (Pt-Ir wires or the like) 6, 5, 7 are connected to the electrodes 2, 3, 4, respectively, and lead wires are electrowelded to the fixing terminals 9, 10, 11 on an insulation supporting plate 8, whereby the humidity-gas detecting element is manufactured. A power source VS1 for detecting resistance and a power source VH1 for heating the heating element electrode are connected to the element 1, and a reference resistor RL1 is connected to the electrode 2 of the element 1. At the time of detecting humidity, a switch SW1 is closed, and at the time of detecting gas, it is closed. The voltage divided by the resistor RL1 and the element 1 is used as a detecting output, whereby humidity or gas is detected.
