Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove magnetic fine powder dispersed unstably to purify easily magnetic ink, by applying a concentrated magnetic field to magnetic ink having fine magnetic particles dispersed in a colloidal state by a surface active agengt in a dispersing medium.
CONSTITUTION: Fine magnetic particles are dispersed in a colloidal state by a surface active agent in a dispersing medium to prepare magnetic ink 3. When the magnetic ink 3 is adsorbed onto a permanent magnet 1 by way of a magnetic plate 2, precipitate 4 occurs on the edge part of magnet 1 after it is left to stand for a long time. When the magnet is removed from magnetic plate 2 and the plate is inclined, magnetic ink 3 flows down and only the precipitate 4 remains, thus the magnetic ink being purified.
