Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compsn. which has excellent impact resistance, rigidity and gloss, and exhibits good flow properties during melting, by a method wherein a propylene-ethylene random copolymer is kneaded with PE, and the mixture in a molten state is kneaded with unmolten or semi-molten PP.
CONSTITUTION: 2W10wt% Propylene-ethylene random polymer (which has an intrinsic viscosity η, measured in decalin at 135°C, of 2W5dl/g, a propylene content of 40W70mol%, a microisotacticity, as measured on a chain of 3 propylene units, of 0.8 or above, and contains a boiling cyclohexane-insoluble matter of 10wt% or less) is kneaded with 1W15wt%PE having an intrinsic viscosity η of 1W4dl/g. The mixture in a molten state is kneaded with 75W97wt% (an amount which makes up the total of 100wt%) unmolten or semi-molten PP having an intrinsic viscosity η of 0.8W4.0dl/g, to produce the titled compsn. Since this compsn. has good moldability and excellent rigidity, low-temperature impact resistance, gloss, etc., the compsn. is suitable for use in injection molding and can be molded into a wide variety of useful articles.
