Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the feeling of spatial spread of sound field and feeling of a hall, by delaying L-R and R-L signals for a given time, shifting the phases, setting the level, and adding one of them to L, R signals respectively. CONSTITUTION:An input signal for left and right channels is synthesized into (R-L) at a subtractor 1, this is delayed by tau1 at a delay circuit 2, and this output is separated into two signals with a phase difference theta1 and amplitude ratio X1 at phase shifters 3, 4 and level setters 5, 6. Similarly, a signal (L-R) synthesized at a subtractor 7 is delayed by tau2 at a delay circuit 8 and separated into two signals of phase difference theta2 and amplitude ratio of X2 at phase shifters 9, 10 and level setters 11, 12. These pseudo indirect sounds are added to the original signals R, L at adders 13-16 and the resultant signals are fed to a left speaker 41 and a right speaker 42.
