Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the safety of a low-temperature tank, by spraying urethane on the tapered surface of each molded block and foaming the sprayed urethane to provide a coldness maintaining layer on the inside surface of bottom and wall of an outer vessel. CONSTITUTION:Blocks 9 previously made of a coldness maintaining material such as foamed urethane are provided as a corner on the peripheral surface of a base 7 and the bottom plate 5 of an outer vessel 1. Urethane is sprayed on the tapered surface 10 of each block 9, the bottom plate 5 of the outer vessel 1 and the inside surfaces of a curved plate 6 and a lining plate 3 and foamed to provide a coldness maintaining continuous layer 11 of foamed urethane on the entire inside surface of the outer vessel 1. According to this constitution, numerous irregular gas bubbles are not made in a bottom edge portion 11a and thermal stress caused in the edge portion 11a is extremely small.
